Shoulder pain & rotator cuff care in Nashua.
The shoulder trades stability for range of motion, which is why it complains loudly when the rotator cuff is strained or the joint stops moving well. Reaching overhead, sleeping on one side, fastening a seatbelt, when those start to hurt, it’s time. Dr. Herner treats the shoulder itself and the neck and upper back that feed it.

Signs your shoulder needs attention.
Shoulders rarely get better by being ignored, early care keeps small problems small.
Pain reaching or lifting
A catch or ache when you reach overhead, behind your back, or lift away from your body.
Night pain
Aching that wakes you when you roll onto that side, a classic rotator cuff sign.
Weakness or clicking
Feeling like the arm can’t be trusted with weight, or grinding with movement.
How Dr. Herner treats shoulder pain.
The exam sorts rotator cuff strain from joint restriction from referred neck pain, each is treated differently.
Joint adjustments
Restoring motion to the shoulder, neck, and upper back so the cuff stops working against a stuck joint.
Graston soft-tissue work
Instrument-assisted therapy for the scar tissue and restrictions that keep the cuff irritated.
Healing support
Ultrasound and electric stimulation to settle pain and support the healing tissue.
Common questions.
Do I need an MRI before coming in?
Usually not to start. The exam identifies most shoulder problems, and Dr. Herner is qualified to order imaging if something needs a closer look, or to refer you to a specialist if the exam points that way.
Can chiropractic help a rotator cuff injury?
Many cuff strains and impingements respond well to conservative care, restoring joint motion, treating the soft tissue, and supporting healing. Full-thickness tears are different, and the exam is designed to tell you honestly which you have.
