Hip & buttock pain relief in Nashua.
Pain in the hip or buttock is one of the most common things we see, and one of the most misunderstood: the spot that hurts is often not where the problem is. It can come from the hip joint itself, the SI joint, tight deep muscles, or a nerve in the lower back. Dr. Herner’s exam finds which one it actually is, then treats that.

Signs worth getting checked.
If any of these sound familiar, an exam can pinpoint the cause.
Deep ache in the hip or buttock
A dull or sharp ache you can point to, worse after sitting or first thing in the morning.
Pain that moves
Discomfort that shifts between the low back, buttock, and outer hip, a clue the source may be the spine or SI joint.
Stiffness with stairs or standing
Trouble with stairs, getting out of the car, or standing from a chair.
How Dr. Herner treats hip & buttock pain.
The exam separates joint, muscle, and nerve causes, then the plan targets the real one.
Precise adjustments
Restoring motion to the hip, SI joint, and lower back so the irritated joint can settle.
Spinal decompression
If a lower-back disc is referring pain into the buttock, gentle traction takes the pressure off.
Soft-tissue work
Graston and targeted muscle work for the deep hip muscles that mimic joint pain.
Common questions.
Why does my buttock hurt if nothing happened to it?
Buttock pain often starts somewhere else: a lower-back disc, the SI joint, or a deep muscle pressing on a nerve. That is why the exam comes first: treating the spot that hurts only helps if it is actually the source.
Could my hip pain actually be sciatica?
Sometimes. If the pain runs below the knee or comes with tingling, the sciatic nerve may be involved. The exam tells the difference, and both respond well to conservative care.
