Frequently asked questions.

Quick answers to what new patients ask most. Still have a question? Call (603) 595-4600 and we are happy to help.

How do I book an appointment?

Just give us a call at (603) 595-4600 and ask. We keep early-morning and evening appointments to fit around work.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare, workers' comp, and auto insurance. We're happy to verify your coverage before you come in and submit the paperwork for you.

What if I don't have insurance, or can't afford care?

We can bill your care through affordable packages tailored to your situation, and if your benefits run out before your plan is finished, we'll set up a payment plan that fits your budget.

What happens at my first visit, and how long does it take?

We start with a thorough history and a hands-on exam to find the real cause of your pain, run testing only if it helps, then give you a clear diagnosis and a plan. Plan for a little longer than a regular visit, since the first one is about getting it right.

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

Chiropractors are best known for care of back pain, neck pain, and headaches, and also treat a wide range of muscle, ligament, and joint problems, from sports and auto accident injuries to arthritis, sciatica, and everyday wrist, knee, and foot pain. Because these conditions involve the nervous system, pain can show up far from where the problem starts, which is why every visit begins with an exam.

Does an adjustment hurt? Is it safe?

Adjustments are gentle, and Dr. Herner matches the technique, from traditional to no-force, to your comfort level. A little soreness afterward is normal, similar to after a workout.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, you can come straight in. We'll coordinate with your primary care physician when it helps your care.

How often will I need to come in?

It depends on your plan, but most people start at one to three times a week and taper to a few times a month as they improve.

Will I have to keep coming forever?

No. We build your care around your goals. Many people move to occasional maintenance once they feel better, paired with simple exercises you can do at home.

Still have a question?

Call the office and we'll walk you through it, no pressure.
